Tips on keeping my dog safe on our first beach trip?

my dog misty, has never been to the ocean. i live bout 2 hours away from the ocean, and i plan on taking her in about a month. i wanted to know if there are any tips to make the trip fun and safe? in case u need to know her size she is probably about 60 pounds. thank you! :)
