What do I need to know to play bass in a school jazz band?

I've been self teaching myself bass guitar for a little over 3 months now and I can read all bass clef music. I understand the concept behind major, minor and blues scales and I can play slap bass and read tab. What else do I need to know? I know that I need to be able to play bass lines when I'm given just a chord name on each bar, but how would I go about this? Please give me a list of everything that i need to know.
