Any advice for learning sheet music (standard notation) for the guitar?

I am playing the guitar and have been for 3 years. I also have been playing the flute, so I know how to read treble clef music. I started getting more serious with the guitar and I am proceeding to learn how to read standard notation. I know my scales C, G, and D. I'm also currently learning the A and E scales. I know how to do the scales physically but the only notes I know are the beginning notes and the ending notes. I am having a hard time corresponding the frets to the notes on the music staff. Is there any advice on how to remember what each fret and string represent on the music staff?
