Whats the first step towards conducting?(in my case)?
The advice to take piano is good. You need to be comfortable reading multiple lines of music simultaneously. Also learn whatever you can about other instruments. Whenever you perform a piece with your school orchestra, do the kind of research a conductor needs to do on a piece - study the background of the piece, its historical context and so on. Ask your conductor if you can study the score of whatever you're doing so you can get a feel for how the parts fit together. Start learning how to deal with transposing instruments and be able to switch back and forth between concert pitch and what's in the part.
