Might get my period at the beach?

I just started my periods in March of this yr (I might be older than you think). Of course, they have not been regular. Like I got 2 in March, none in April, 2 in May, & 2 in June. We are going to the beach July 9th-16th. I'm afraid I'm going to get my period at the beach..what will I need to do? My family is usually out on the beach and in the ocean all day except for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I wear pads but I could try a tampon if I needed to. My mom might need more convincing because she doesn't wear one. I'll worry about asking her later if I need to.
